Captured at Battle of Brice''s Crossroads, June 10-12 1864. Sent to Andersonville Prison. Was released November(?) 1864 in failing health. Returned home to New Jersey and died in January, 1865.

Enlisted in Company I, New Jersey 2nd Cavalry Regiment on 06 Sep 1864.
Mustered out on 29 Jun 1865 at Vicksburg, MS.

Private Davis was born on August 29, 1844 in Burlington, New Jersey. He enlisted on September 6, 1864. It was either on January 2 or 3 in 1865 that Davis was injured in battle. He was discharged at Saint Louis, Missouri on August 4, 1865. Private Davis died on March 31, 1923 in Burlington, New Jersey and was buried on April 4, 1923 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Burlington. He was survived by his four children. His wife had died 16 days before he did.

my great grandfather micheal wisker joined the 2nd new jersy cavalry in the fall of 1864 at the age of 30 .the regiment was stationed in mississippi at the time.pvt wisker was discharged shortly after the war in the city of vicksburg ,miss.
